Milky Way

Took this shot a couple weeks ago on a clear night from Cape Reinga. So many stars.

North Island Robin

North Island Robin from Tawharanui. I almost cropped out its foot until I remembered how long their legs are.

Rock Pigeon

Rock pigeon, more commonly known as flying rats. If they weren't so frequently found in city parks we might notice how colorful they are. Taken at Western Springs.

Muriwai

This sunset didn't last very long but I was able to get a few shots before it faded.

Grey Warbler

Finally got a decent shot of a grey warbler. These guys are unpredictable and hard to photograph.

Takahē

The South Island takahē was thought to be extinct in the late 1800s but was rediscovered in 1948 in the Murchison Mountains of the south island of New Zealand. Their numbers are still small but they've been making a steady comeback with help from conservation efforts.
